This Rio Single Cartridge Filtration and Softening System is exclusive solution for battling against the ill effects of unrefined water on espresso machines based on 30 years of experience. Unfiltered water may contain excessive hardness, dissolved solids, and undesirable taste and odor, which will ultimately affect the taste of your espresso. Unfiltered water may also lead to corrosion and scale build up over time. This neutralizes pH, reduces particulates with ability to bind inside the espresso machine and creating better tasting espresso by removing sharp flavor characteristics from the water. It reduces total dissolved solids (TDS) that build up inside the espresso machine, diminishes chlorine taste and odor. It also removes 2,400 grains of hardness per cartridge. The replacement cartridge is optional.
